MOHAVE COUNTY – A Mohave Community College English instructor is also a professional photographer who recently had his photos published in the book, To Know a Starry Night.

Beau Rogers recently spoke about his photography with approximately 45 students, staff, and community members at the Bullhead City campus event, aptly named To Know a Starry Night.

Rogers has been an avid photographer for many years and worked with author Paul Bogard and the University of Nevada Press to release an impressive book of night sky imagery.

He shared images and stories with the crowd, detailing how to take the best night photos at various regions of the southwest.  He was happy to share anecdotes of his many travels, and his energetic storytelling helped engage the crowd and bring them into the context of the images he shared.

He also included some poignant quotations from American authors such as Edward Abby, which rounded out the lecture.  He also reminded prospective students to consider enrolling in MCC class English 235, American Literature I, which he will teach in the upcoming fall semester.

The college is currently enrolling students in summer and fall classes.  Those interested in becoming an MCC student should start by filling out the free application at Apply.Mohave.edu, or by visiting the college Student Services team at a nearby campus.

The book, To Know a Starry Night, is available at the MCC Bullhead City campus library and can be purchased from many online stores including Amazon, Walmart and Barnes & Noble.
