MCC strives to meet the growing regional needs of business and industry, and provides opportunities for small business development, as well as professional development for employees in every business sector.

Credit or Non-Credit?

Many people may not realize that MCC offers credit and non-credit classes. What’s the difference between credit classes and non-credit classes? Simply put:

  • Credit classes are traditional, semesterly college classes in which students earn credits toward a college degree or certificate. Those credits are transferable between colleges and universities.
  • Non-credit classes are short-term, with no grades. Some non-credit classes may provide Credentials or non-credit certificates upon completion.

Academic Divisions

Now that you know the difference between Credit and Non-credit classes, take a look at our four Academic Divisions:

Under these divisions are dozens Areas of Interest that lead to associate degree and certificate options, as well as many short-term, high skills non-credit workforce training and lifelong education classes.

Athletics

The college is also the home to Bighorns Soccer, the first college athletic team based in northwestern Arizona.  You can keep up with latest news and information about the men’s and women’s teams at Athletics.Mohave.edu.

We also have a fun Esports Team for our students on all campuses.

Signing Up for Classes

Filling out the college application for credit classes is free and you can get started at Apply.Mohave.edu.  If you need assistance please contact an Admissions Specialist. You may also reach the college at 1-866-MOHAVECC.

For non-credit classes visit the Community & Corporate Education division. The Community Education classes are often called leisure studies and may include everything from arts & crafts to welding basics. Corporate Education classes help build professional skills, some refer to them as soft skills, which are desired by employers. The college is also home to the Small Business Development Center, which can help you start a business, including developing a business plan and applying for a business loan.

Individuals who would like to support students through donations to college scholarships can do so through the Mohave Community College Foundation.

10 Reasons to Choose MCC

Affordable

MCC strives to make college affordable for everyone.  We encourage everyone to fill out the FAFSA because you may qualify for a grant that covers everything. MCC also has scholarships and payment plans. Those seeking a bachelor’s degree should start first at MCC and then transfer to a university as a junior.  This will save on average $15,000 in tuition alone, plus living expenses if you live at home while attending MCC.

Choice

MCC offers more than 70 associate degrees and certificates tailored to provide you with the knowledge and skills expected by business, industry, government and educational centers around the world.  Our class schedules are flexible to fit your life style.

Quality

100% of MCC’s full-time faculty have at least a master’s degree, and approximately 30 percent have earned their doctorate. In addition to these professionals, the college has more than 300 highly experienced and dedicated associate faculty.

Personal Attention

The in-class student-to-teacher ratio at MCC averages 13-to-1; that means you get hands-on learning and one-on-one time with instructors. You are not a number at MCC, you are an individual our faculty and employees care about.

Tools for success

MCC provides students the right tools to succeed.  Students will learn in hi-tech educational facilities, with cutting edge instructional support materials. Our Allied Health Sciences and Career and Technical Education training labs are designed to be as close to real-life industry settings as you can get.

Smooth transfer of credits

When students successfully complete an Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) degree, admission into an Arizona state university is guaranteed!  MCC works closely with our university partners to ensure credits earned while obtaining an MCC degree will transfer smoothly to the universities in Arizona and many other universities across the country.

Preparatory services

If you don’t think you are ready for college, we can help. Our Pre-college Studies division is dedicated to helping those who need fundamental education skills to prepare for college course work.  You can go from earning your GED to a college degree right here at MCC.

Enhanced earning potential

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, those who complete an associate’s degree will earn, on average, 33 percent more than high school graduates.  Research shows an MCC graduate will earn approximately $725,000 more in life than a person who only has a high school diploma.

Great support services

MCC offers various support services: free tutoring, 24/7 counseling, computer labs, accommodations for documented disabilities and more.

Fun!

We recognize that there is more to life than studying. Student clubs, on-campus activities, classroom experiences and field study all offer the chance to meet new people, make new friends, inspire others and enhance your life.
