Complaint Procedure

Complaint Procedure

The U.S. Department of Education Regulation 34 CFR part 668.43 requires that Mohave College provide its students or prospective students with contact information for filing complaints with its accreditor and state approval or licensing entity.

Mohave College provides an internal complaint process that is outlined in the Student Handbook. Students and prospective students may also file complaints with Mohave College’s accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission. This is a new regulation that requires independent, third-party review of complaints. Additional information can be found on the Accreditation and State Regulatory Authorization webpage.

Distance Education students outside of Arizona, after completion of the institution’s internal complaint process, may appeal to the Arizona Community College Coordinating Council (AC4). For additional information on the complaint process, please visit the AC4 Complainant Policy page.

The Arizona State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) Council has jurisdiction over Arizona SARA approved institutions regarding non-instructional complaints for distance education students. Upon completion of the institution’s and AC4’s complaint process, a student may register a complaint with the Arizona SARA Council. For additional information on the complaint process, please visit the AZ SARA Complaint page.

Members of the public may submit feedback using the Community Feedback and Concern form.
