MCC Future Fund

The Future Fund is a last dollar scholarship for Mohave County residents to help cover tuition and standard fees. Last dollar scholarships pay remaining tuition and standard fees after all other sources of grant and scholarship aid have paid. Future Funds are offered to High School Seniors and continuing students at MCC.

Award Amounts
Because the Future Fund is a last dollar scholarship, award amounts vary based on registration and the amounts of other funding sources. Future Funds do not cover course fees.

Award amounts are determined using the following formula:

 Tuition + Standard fees
– Pell Grant
– Other grants and scholarships
=Future Fund Amount

Future Funds are awarded in a two-step process:

  1. Initial Awards – made when your FAFSA is received
  2. Finalized Awards – adjusted after the start of the semester

Initial awards amounts assume you will enroll in six credits. Awards are ‘initial’ until finalized at the end of the add/drop registration period each semester.

Finalized award amounts reflect actual tuition and fees. Finalized amounts vary based on registration and other grant amounts. Veterans benefits amounts are considered when determining award amounts. Finalized amounts may change if you receive awards from other sources at a later time.

Eligibility
To receive an award, students must:

  • Be admitted to MCC
  • Submit the FAFSA for the appropriate award year
  • Have an EFC on the FAFSA
  • Be a resident of Mohave County, AZ
  • Qualify for in-state tuition
  • Enroll in at least six financial aid eligible credits

If selected, you will be required to complete and submit a Future Fund Promise form.
