Paid Community Partnership Program

The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department offers real world experience through our paid community partnership program. The Social and Behavioral Sciences faculty have built professional partnerships with various health organizations in Mohave County to match qualified students with both paid and unpaid MCC community partners with openings at their organizations. If you are a declared Social and Behavioral Sciences major and are currently enrolled at Mohave Community College, please reach out to one of our full-time faculty members for more information regarding the community partnership programs.

Mohave Community College is now partnered with BetterMynd to offer our students access to private online therapy sessions from a diverse network of licensed mental health counselors. The partnership with previous provider Talkspace has ended.

BetterMynd’s 50-minute, live video-sessions are private, confidential, and can take place from the convenience of your laptop, smartphone, or tablet. Sessions are available during the day, at night, and on the weekends in all 50 states. English and Spanish-speaking counselors are available in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, and most other states. Counselors speaking other languages may also be made available or sessions can be live-translated to the student’s preferred language. Students are able to speak with counselors in whatever state they reside. BetterMynd also provides free self-help resources and free group workshops for students. Workshop topics include anger management, stress reduction, anxiety coping, and more.

To register and get started with a counselor that’s a good fit for you, students should go to and click Register. The MCC student email is required to gain access. From there, students can review counselor background, demographics, and specialties before scheduling.

Students are automatically granted 3 session credits upon registration. If additional credits are needed, please reach out to your Dean of Student & Community Engagement.

BetterMynd is not a crisis provider. In an active emergency always call 911. If you are suicidal or fear you may harm yourself, dial 988.

If you have any questions about these services, please reach out to MCC Vice President of Student & Community Engagement, Dr. Tramaine Rausaw, at or BetterMynd at
