Phlebotomy
Certificates
This Certificate Program provides entry level positions in facilities such as hospitals, physician offices, private medical laboratories, and blood donation centers. Phlebotomists draw blood to assist health care providers in diagnosing disease, monitoring disease, and assisting in research.
As a trained phlebotomist, you’ll be responsible for collecting blood specimens by capillary puncture and venipuncture while using proper techniques and good customer service skills.
At Mohave Community College you will receive hands-on training on how to safely obtain blood specimens by learning universal precautions, order of the draw, while ensuring the integrity of the sample collected.
Students will complete a 90-hour Clinical Externship at the end of the program in a Medical Lab facility in order to complete the Certificate Program.
