This course provides students with the theory and skills necessary to provide safe, quality care to clients. This includes physiology, psychological, and basic nursing care needs with a focus on long-term care environments. Application of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors occur in the nursing skills laboratory, Simulation center and various clinical facilities. (6 credits = 4 lecture + 1 lab credits (3 hours per week) + 1 clinical (45 hours))
Students are required to submit an Arizona DPS card, Pre-Check, two step tuberculosis (TB) test, and a CPR card from an American Heart Association approved organization. Upon acceptance students will be required to submit to a drug screen.

Classes are offered on all four campuses in the Fall and Spring semesters. We currently anticipate our next class to be Fall 2021 semester, (beginning August 2021).
Enrollment is easy. Once you have your MCC student ID number you will take the placement test. Acceptable score on reading placement exam or successful completion of PCS021 and acceptable score on math placement exam or successful (S) completion of PCS023. There is no application required for this program.
