Cosmetology
Certificates
Tentatively starting fall 2026, the Cosmetology Program prepares students for entry-level employment in the professional beauty industry through comprehensive instruction in hair design, skin care, nail technology, and salon practices. The program consists of 40 academic credits and requires completion of 1,500 clock hours, combining classroom theory with hands-on training in a supervised salon setting to ensure students meet state licensure requirements.
The curriculum provides instruction in sanitation and safety, hair cutting and styling, chemical services, esthetics fundamentals, manicuring and pedicuring, and salon operations. Emphasis is placed on the development of technical proficiency, professional conduct, effective communication, and high-quality client service in a diverse workplace. Graduates who successfully complete the program are prepared to take the Arizona state cosmetology licensure examination and to pursue employment in salons, spas, and related beauty industry settings, or to continue their education in advanced or specialized areas of cosmetology.
