Awareness Events

MCC is dedicated to raising awareness and prevention efforts for domestic violence, dating violence, and all interpersonal violence.

March 2nd- 8th, 2025 – No More Week

No More. Together we can end domestic violence and sexual assault

We celebrate the annual No More every March.  No More is a movement to raise public awareness and engage bystanders to bring an end to domestic violence and sexual assault.

April 24th, 2025 – Denim Day

Denim day established 1999

Denim Day is the longest-running sexual violence prevention and education campaign in history.  The campaign began after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped the person who raped her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim. Every April we support the Denim Day campaign to bring awareness to victim-blaming and destructive myths that surround sexual violence.

October 2025 – Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October was first declared as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) in 1989. Since then, October has been a time to acknowledge domestic violence and raise awareness to help end the cycle of violence.
