MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave College Center for Teaching and Learning, and Institutional Research staff presented at two statewide conferences, the AZTransfer Summit and the Arizona Association for Institutional Research Annual Conference.

Shelly Castaneda, Executive Director of Institutional Research; Andrea Wange, Director of Curriculum and Assessment and Charity Adams, Educational Developer in the Center for Teaching and Learning presented a practical and collaborative approach on how to improve assessment reporting on student learning outcomes across courses, programs and general education.

The work features a data dashboard that aligns key assessments with learning outcomes and provides clear visualizations of student learning. This tool supports faculty and staff in taking results and making informed, data-driven decisions to help students succeed.

Faculty are able to define how assessment findings strengthen instructional practices, while students gain a clear understanding of their achievement of learning outcomes across programs.

This process highlights a strong collaboration among Mohave College faculty, staff and assessment committee members in promoting a shared understanding of assessment data and its role in student success.

“We would like to thank the teams within Institutional Research and the Center for Teaching and Learning who continue to support this important work,” said Wange. “We are especially grateful to Estrella Mountain Community College for sharing resources and guidance, and to our faculty for their ongoing commitment to meaningful and accurate assessment practices that support student learning.”

The development of the assessment processes requires effort and collaboration, and reflects Mohave College’s commitment to continuous improvement and to using assessment as a transformative practice. Through this work, the College continues to strengthen academic programs and enhance the student experience for learners across Mohave County.
