MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave College will host its annual Bighorn Trek community event Thursday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Neal Campus in Kingman.
The event, themed “Find Your Path,” will connect potential students, families and community members with educational resources, instructors, transfer partners and local service providers. Attendees will also enjoy music, local food trucks and festivities throughout the day.
“Bighorn Trek events have grown for each of our campus communities, and Kingman is no different. The event is our way of showing the community how the programs we offer at Mohave College are strategically aligned with the workforce and other resources we have right here at home,” said Dr. Tramaine Rausaw, Vice President of Student and Community Engagement. “From middle and high school students all the way to our senior and snowbird populations, we have something for everyone at Mohave College. Please come out, have fun and engage with us. Join the herd, as we say.”
Attendees will have the chance to meet with our program staff and faculty from our four academic divisions: Career and Technical Education, Arts & Sciences, Health and Public Services, and Community & Corporate Education. The event brings the opportunity for those wanting to earn a degree or certificate, to network with faculty and learn more about what programs offer.
The event also includes the College transfer partners who will provide information for students looking to transfer to a university. Some universities in attendance include Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, Post University and Southern New Hampshire University.
Community partners that are on tap for Bighorn Trek are the Kingman Area Literacy Program, Parenting Arizona, Boys and Girls Club, Kingman Area Food Bank and others.
The event is free and open to the public. Organizers encourage attendees to bring family and friends to learn more about programs at Mohave College and beyond.
