MOHAVE COUNTY – In its April meeting, the District Governing Board unanimously approved a recommendation to grant Emeritus status to Shawn Bristle, honoring his distinguished service and lasting contributions to the College and the communities it serves.

The recommendation, submitted by College President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein, recognizes Bristle’s nearly two decades of leadership at the College, including his tenure as Chief Advancement Officer, Dean of the Bullhead City Campus, and earlier years as an English faculty member. His impact has been felt across all aspects of the institution – from academic program development and community partnerships to student support and regional advancement efforts.

“Shawn’s dedication, professionalism, and deep commitment to the mission of community colleges set him apart as a remarkable leader,” said Dr. Klippenstein. “His work has helped elevate the College’s reputation and capacity to serve students and communities across Mohave County. It is truly fitting to recognize him with the title of Emeritus.”

During his time at the College, Bristle was instrumental in forming strategic partnerships, including key collaborations with K-12 schools, local governments and industry. He also played a pivotal role in grant development and resource acquisition that continues to benefit students today.

Emeritus status is a prestigious honor awarded to retired faculty or administrators who have made exceptional contributions to the College’s mission. With this recognition, Bristle joins a select group of individuals who have helped shape the future of higher education in the region.
