MOHAVE COUNTY – MCC Community Education is bringing back, and adding to, its long list of holiday offerings for adults and kids to enjoy in the coming months. From decorating cookie plates for Santa to baking treats for the whole family, the College provides plenty of opportunities to get you into the holiday spirit.

Cookies for Santa will see participants create a personalized cookie plate for Santa, with the plate and paints provided by MCC. Participants need only bring their imagination. Once the plate is fired, come pick up your custom plate and keep it as a family keepsake. The class takes place Friday, Dec. 13 at MCC’s Beale Street Center in Kingman.

MCC Community Education is also offering a unique holiday class this season to go alongside its many leatherworking courses available throughout the year. The Leather Stamped Ornaments class is a hands-on workshop where participants will learn the basics of leather stamping, leaving 3-D impressions on the material, to create personalized ornaments. All materials are provided, as are hot chocolate and cookies. The class, which is designed for all ages, runs on Thursday, Dec. 19 at the MCC Kingman Campus.

If leather isn’t to your liking, maybe MCC’s Southwestern Metal Holiday Ornaments class is for you. In this course, participants will learn the basics of metal stamping to assist them in creating personalized ornaments. All materials will be provided, and hot chocolate and cookies will be served. This offering is perfect for all ages and skill levels, and takes place Friday, Dec. 20 on the MCC Kingman Campus.

Additionally, Weld a Metal Christmas Tree is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 on the MCC Kingman Campus. Pieces for the complete tree will be precut, with participants just needing to do a few small wells before bending the tree into shape. The class is perfect for beginners or those looking to explore welding.

One can never have too many ornaments, so MCC also has a beaded ornament class running this holiday season. In this fun and relaxing workshop, you’ll create beautiful, handcrafted ornaments using a variety of colorful beads. Learn basic beading techniques and design your own festive decorations that will sparkle on your tree or make thoughtful, handmade gifts. No experience needed—just bring your creativity! All materials are provided, and hot chocolate and cookies will be served. This class consists of two sessions, one Tuesday, Dec. 17 and another Wednesday, Dec. 18, on the Kingman Campus.

There are also holiday offerings scheduled for the MCC Bullhead City Campus. Those include a Holiday Greeting Cards Class scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20 and a Holiday Wreath making course set for Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Once the halls are decked with ornaments, it’s time to feed your family and guests! Learn how to whip up a delicious holiday treat through MCC’s Sweet Tamales course. Learn to make this Mexican dessert made from a sweet masa corn dough, and filled with a variety of fruit, nuts and sugary fillings. This course runs Monday, Dec. 16 on the Kingman Campus.
