Mohave Community College has chosen Dr. Tim Culver to serve as Executive Vice President of the college.
Dr. Culver was selected after a nationwide search, in which approximately 50 applications were received and reviewed.
“I am excited to become part of the MCC family and to get back to my community college roots. I started my journey through higher education at a community college and that experience propelled me along the pathway I’ve been on for many years. MCC is positioned well to serve the communities of Mohave County and I want to be part of that success story. If we can help students and their families to have a better future then I am all in!,” said Dr. Culver, who currently serves as the Vice President for Student Success of Ruffalo Noel Levitz, a higher education consulting group.
Dr. Culver has led the retention consulting services of RNL since 2002, where he offers counsel to help institutions develop, implement, and evaluate plans for improving enrollment, student success, persistence, retention and degree completion rates. He has expertise in a wide range of areas including but not limited to retention planning, Title III and Title V grants, enrollment planning, developmental education, and institutional assessment and planning.
During his time as the Director of Student Success at Shawnee State University, he used his passion for teaching as well, designing a curriculum for and teaching developmental mathematics courses. He has been a member of several national and state organizations including the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the National Association for Developmental Education (currently National Organization for Student Success), and the National Academic Advising Association.
“We are honored to have Dr. Culver join our team,” said College President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein. “He has spent his career assisting colleges and universities achieve high levels of student success and enrollment growth. I have no doubt that Dr. Culver’s experience and passion for higher education will complement our new strategic plan.”
At MCC, Dr. Culver will work closely with the college president, and will oversee many aspects of the college, including Student Services and Instruction. He said he is looking forward to being part of the team as the college works to enact its strategic plan.
“MCC is in the season of alignment with community needs and I want to be part of the leadership under President Klippenstein,” he said. “I am excited to join the team and help MCC make an even bigger and better difference for students, families, and the community.”
When he’s not at work you’ll find him enjoying his hobbies and interests which include fitness, travel, home DIY and horror films.
