KINGMAN – Kingman Unified School District and Mohave Community College partnered up to expose students and community members to different educational and career opportunities.
The fair was Tuesday at the Mohave County Fairgrounds and students from Kingman Academy of Learning, Lee Williams High School and Kingman High School were able to ask questions to schools and employers in Arizona and out of state.
A senior from LWHS, Margaret High, thought the fair provided a lot of information to herself and peers in a less intimidating environment.
Principals from KUSD also attended alongside their students to see what resources are in the community and outside.
“I hope students have an opportunity to get a little bit of information and I’m hoping they kind of get an idea of what they want to do in the future, so I think this is a fact-finding mission more than anything else,” said Scott Taylor, LWHS Principal.
MCC had representatives from its various programs. Students were able had the chance to experience virtual welding through MCC’s Welding program simulator.
In the evening, community members were able to attend the college and career fair and were able to see the different career opportunities within the City of Kingman and Mohave County.
