Big shout out to the MCC IT department, which had the honor of holding a breakout session at the VMWorld 2018 Convention in Las Vegas.
Convention organizers asked them to explain for others in the tech industry some of the cutting-edge work they’ve been doing at MCC. It includes new processes to ensure the college IT infrastructure maintains workload mobility with full networking and security functionality. One example that was noted, the MCC IT department’s been able to cut down the time it takes the college network to come back online from a power outage, from a few hours to a few minutes and with zero data loss.
The techies at the convention understood the in-depth technical processes that were described in the session, but for the writers of this posting the tech-speak was so deep they might as well have been speaking Martian. It was made clear though, the MCC IT Department has done such great work on the college computer network that they caught the eye of the tech world and were asked to hold a breakout session to explain to other techies what they have done and how they did it.
Below are some pictures from the VMWorld 2018 photo shoot. Great job MCC IT!
