The Mohave Community College online associate degree programs rank among the 50 best in the U.S.
Non-Profit Colleges Online this week released its ranking of the Top 50 Best Colleges for Online Associate Degrees.
The top 50 best were identified based on tuition rates, U.S. News & World Report scores, percentage of students receiving scholarships or grants, number of associate degree programs, and student teacher ratios, according to Brett Gershon, editor for Nonprofit Colleges Online.
“This is another top national ranking for MCC and it’s because of the hard work our faculty and staff put in everyday to provide everyone an opportunity to get high-quality higher education at a tremendous value,” said MCC President Dr. Michael Kearns.
Nonprofit Colleges Online notes in its ranking that MCC students “can earn a college certificate or degree from the comfort of home or office, participating in classes at times that fit their individual schedules and lifestyles. Online advisors, librarians and student services specialists are available to students as needed.”
“Nonprofit Colleges Online strives to honor the schools that have raised the bar on standards for online learning,” said Gershon. “The schools featured in this ranking are going above and beyond in their online course offerings by creating flexible, accessible learning options.”
This is the third national ranking for MCC in the past two months. In August, Great Value Colleges ranked the MCC online business program third best in the U.S., and WalletHub ranked MCC among the top 5% Best Community Colleges in the U.S.
“MCC is a higher-education jewel for our communities and it’s getting noticed,” said College Spokesman James Jarman. “Our tuition rates are among the lowest in the country, our credits transfer smoothly to our university partners, and our Healthcare and Career & Technical Education programs offer the skills you need to start a great career. Along with that, we have Student Success Centers on our campuses helping students overcome challenges and earn their degree.”
For those interested in taking classes at MCC, you can apply for free online at www.mohave.edu. The college website will also give you information on financial aid, grants and scholarships. The enrollment period for Spring classes opens at the end of October and the Spring semester will start in mid-January.
