MCC encourages the College’s faculty and staff to research and seek grant opportunities that will benefit the programs within which faculty members teach and the departments within which the staff members work.
Once the grant opportunities have been identified and assessed for compatibility with the College’s mission and strategic plan, the Grants Office will assist and guide the faculty and staff members in writing the proposals for grant funding which will bolster programs, improve the functioning of student support departments, and provide students with improved programs and services.
History of the Grants Office
In December 2003, Mohave Community College's Resource Development Consultant from SunGard Collegis visited the college and made recommendations for the launching of a grant writing effort. The first recommendation was for the college to form a grants task force. This task force was charged with identifying and targeting external funding opportunities for Mohave Community College.
The task force's structure provides for the effective administration and writing of grant proposals and the requisite data procurement. The grants task force is currently active in identifying and targeting external funding opportunities for Mohave Community College.

We have successfully secured four national awards - The most recent Title III award, Strengthening the Institutions Program from the Office of Postsecondary Education, provides over a five-year period more than $1.9 million to target student success, retention at MCC and transition to four-year institutions. Previously, the R2R program put MCC on the national stage for curriculum reform. Additionally, the Campus EAI Consortium Oracle Portal Grant, worth well over one million dollars, and a National Science Foundation Geo-Science grant provided additional funding support for MCC programs.
