Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following qualification requirements to teach the General Education areas listed above:
- Masters in the teaching field; or
- Masters in any teaching field with 18 graduate semester hours in teaching field; or
- Masters in any field with 24 upper division and/or graduate semester hours in the teaching field
- Bachelor's and three years work experience in the teaching field.
Precollege Studies/English Language Acquisition for Adults/GED/ Transitional English & Mathematics
Instructors are needed to work in Beaver Dam as well as in Colorado City. Courses include English Language Acquisition for Adults, transitional math, transitional English, and GED preparation.
Arizona state certification is required to teach Precollege Studies, GED preparation and English Language Acquisition for Adults. New instructors may teach for one semester while awaiting receipt of certification. Documentation of application for state certification must be provided. Information regarding certification requirements is available from the Arizona Department of Education. Certification requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree or the ability to document at least three (3) years of tutoring/teaching experience and a Class One Fingerprint Card.
Qualification for Transitional Math or English:
- Same as those listed above for General Education; or
- Bachelors Degree in Math or English; or
- Bachelors Degree in any field with 24 lower/upper division credits in Math or English.
