The Third Annual Welding Expo & Car Show will be held October 24, 2009.

2009 Welding Seminars

  • 10:30am to 11:30am - "Welding Basics" by Richard Presnal, Welding Technology Program Coordinator. Topics will include Oxyacetylene Welding & Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (stick) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG). Richard Presnal has thirteen years of teaching and thirty plus years of welding experience. He has held 18 different welding certifications through AWS and ASME in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW-SS, FCAW- GS and SAW.
  • 11: 45pm to 12:45pm - "Advancements in Pipe Welding" by Alex Demirjian, District Manager Miller Electric Mfg. Co. & Cory Brown,  District Manager Hobart Brothers. Topics will include Miller's new "Pipe Worx System" and a DVD showing Welding Techniques. 
  • 1:00pm to 2:00pm - "What's NEW from Lincoln Electric" by John R. Weber, Technical Sales Representative. The Lincoln Electric Company seminar will include new consumables, machines, and will cover the "Production Monitoring 2" features and benefits.  
  • 2:15pm to 3:15pm "101 On Basic Repair & Maintenance Welding" by Glenn Fritts, Sales Engineer Bohler Welding Group. The following welding applications will be covered: Dissimilar Metals, cast iron, incone/monel, hard surfacing, stainless steel, and tool steels. Glen Fritts has over twenty years experience in solving repair and maintenance welding application problems. His fields of expertise include mining, power generation, heavy construction, farming equipment and fabrication.  

 

Second Annual Welding Expo & Car Show held October 22, 2008 at the Neal Campus-Kingman MCC was a huge success.  Sponsored by MCC and Praxair.

The winners were, front row from left: Tony Scott, winner of the President's Choice Award for best of show specialty vehicle; TNC Machine won the Vice Chancellors' Award for best of show race car, accepted by Chad Baker, who is also a former MCC welder; and Bob and Kathy Heron won the Chancellor's Choice Award for best of show among show cars. More than 60 vehicles took part in the auto show. The combined welding event and car show drew up to a thousand spectators to the MCC campus.Winners named at MCC car show
