Mohave Community College uses student employment to augment the educational process.
No student will be employed to replace or displace a part- or full-time employee.
- Campus-wide student employment procedures pertaining to wages, hours worked, earning limitations, eligibility requirements and hiring procedures will be established by the President of Mohave Community College.
- If a student’s need has been fully met using, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant and/or other sources of aid, that student is not eligible to work under the Federal College Work-Study program (FCWS).
Minimum employment eligibility requirements include:
-
Student employees must be enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours and maintain satisfactory progress during the regular school term for which they are employed. Students working through the summer term must be enrolled in the summer term.
-
Student employees must be processed through the Financial Aid Office prior to starting work.
-
Student workers cannot work on a volunteer basis at a job for which they are normally paid.
-
Student workers may not work more than one work-study job and employment may not exceed 20 hours per week maximum at any time.
-
All of the forms needed to process a student worker are available from the Financial Aid Office at each campus. Students may be hired for a period of time as long as federal and institutional budgets allow.
-
All summer employment agreements in force after July 1 will end when the college returns to its regular schedule for the fall term unless the student meets the eligibility requirements for the approaching term.
