What type of career can a Paralegal have? - There are a number of careers a paralegal can pursue. Here are just a few: - Title Examiner, Trust Officer, Contract Clerk, Court Employee, Government Employee, Legal Investigator or Law Firm Administrator.

What kind of working conditions can I expect? - Paralegals usually enjoy pleasant working conditions in a law firm, corporate office, court, professional office or other environment. Most paralegals work a 40-hour week.

What is the typical salary for a Paralegal? - Income ranges vary a great deal, with the typical starting salary in Mohave County likely to fall between $25,000 and $32,000 a year. In urban cities, experienced paralegals often earn $45,000 to $50,000. Salary is definitely commensurate with experience, and good paralegals are highly valued by most attorneys.

Are there jobs available? - There is very good job availability both locally and across the United States, and the number of job openings is predicted to grow.

Can I advance my career with this type of education- Paralegals can achieve career advancement after their AAS degree by continuing their education at a four-year school.

 

 

Students may also take continuing legal education offered by the State Bar Association, and by obtaining the basic and advanced certifications for paralegals from NALS (the National Association for legal professionals), or NALA  (the National Association of Legal Assistants). These certifications are not mandatory for paralegals, but are nationally recognized by the legal profession.

How long will it take to complete this program? - A full-time student can complete the paralegal requirements in four semesters. Students can follow a prescribed sequence of courses and finish within two years, or they may take the courses as best fits their schedule, which will require more time.

Are there any licensing exams? - No licensing exams are required of paralegals in the state of Arizona at this time.
