Pharmacy Technology

The U.S. Department of Labor projects a 42% increase in the demand for pharmacy technicians by the year 2015. Many technicians are needed in a variety of settings including hospital pharmacies, community retail pharmacies, managed health care facilities, in-home health care programs, long-term care facilities, the military, mail-service pharmacies, educational/training programs, drug manufacturing, wholesale drug houses, health maintenance organizations and agency pharmacies. MCC offers two program choices:

  •  The Associate of Applied Science degree is 64 credit hours, 27 of which are general education credit hours. You will receive professional and technical skills with additional education in administration, supervision and basic science.
  • The Certificate of Proficiency program includes 39 credit hours. It requires eight credit hours of general education and 31 credits of Pharmacy Technology courses.
