 SUMMER 2009 COURSE START-UP INFORMATION

 All MCC courses use the ANGEL Learning System.  Click here for information on ANGEL and how to sign up for an ANGEL Essentials Workshop.

ACCESSING YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT IN ANGEL 

  • To access ANGEL go to the MCC Angel website at: https://angel.mohave.edu.
  • Your student username account usually has: the first 10 letters of your last name, your first name initial, middle initial, and last four digits of your student ID number. Examples are: John Q. Public, ID#123456, would have username: publicjq3456
    Mary K. Smith-Johnson, ID#654321 would have username: smithjohnsmk4321
  • Your default password will be the last four digits of your Social Security number
  • This username and password are also needed for: iMail (your MCC email), Myhave portal, and Computer Center login.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: You can access your courses in ANGEL AFTER 8:00 AM, the first day of class. (Check your current registration form or EX WEB for course start date.) If you cannot access ANGEL, please contact the Help Desk at 866-749-8239. The Help Desk will ask you to verify your identity and can then provide you with your username and password.

CHECK YOUR MCC EMAIL DAILY
Your MCC email account is the official email address used for MCC courses and important College information and should be checked daily. Access your email account at https://imail.mohave.edu or in the Myhave portal at https://myhave.mohave.edu.

You can log into the Myhave portal for access to your MCC email, ANGEL, forms, the MCC library, and other useful resources. Access Myhave at https://myhave.mohave.edu.

HINTS FOR SUCCESS IN YOUR ONLINE COURSE

  • GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY.  Login to your course within the first two days of the start date. Contact the HELP DESK immediately if you cannot access your course.
  • READ YOUR COURSE SYLLABUS AND PRINT A HARD COPY FOR REFERENCE. Mark assignment due dates on your calendar.  Make sure you understand the course requirements.
  • BUDGET YOUR TIME.  Online courses are flexible to meet your schedule; however, you will be  required to participate in course activities per your instructor’s timeline.
  • STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR COURSE AND WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR.  Login dailyCheck your MCC email daily (imail.mohave.edu).
  • PARTICIPATE IN YOUR ONLINE COURSE DISCUSSIONS.  Most online courses require ongoing participation in discussion forums, assignments, and course activities.
  • BE REALISTIC ABOUT WORKING ONLINE; BE PREPARED FOR TECHNOLOGICAL GLITCHES.  Don’t panic; don’t hesitate to call for assistance.  Have a back-up plan ready if your computer isn’t working. Each campus has a computer lab available; check with your local campus for hours of operation.
