Parents & Family

Going to college requires sacrifice on the part of the student, but also on the part of family members. The student must be away from the family, give time to studying and often use family resources to pay for tuition, fees and books. This is especially trying with students whose programs demand that they attend school full time – programs like nursing, surgical technology and dental hygienist.

However, the short-term sacrifice on the part of parents, children and other loved ones can pay off in many ways:

  • Higher income potential in their new career
  • Greater job stability and benefits
  • Enriched quality of life
  • Role modeling the value of higher education for future generations
