The ceremony begins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Mojave Crossing Event Center, 101 Aztec Road, Fort Mohave, Arizona (just west of Route 95). There is plenty of free parking.
GRADUATES MUST REPORT BETWEEN 1:30 AND 2:30 P.M. TO COMPLETE A READER NAME CARD AND LINE-UP BY 2:45 P.M. PROCESSIONAL BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 3:00 P.M.
Information on participating in graduation was sent to students beginning last fall. Students must complete application with the Registrar’s Office. The deadline for Spring, 2015, graduation was March 3, 2015; applications will still be accepted for participation for May 15, along with a $30 application fee, though there is no guarantee that the student’s name will appear in the program.
Academic attire is available at each campus bookstore. There is a fee of $41.98 (plus tax) for the cap and gown, and a fee of $6.98 for the tassel. Graduates can purchase and pickup attire through noon on May 15 (but don’t wait until the last minute).
It is recommended that graduates wear comfortable shoes (preferably flat) for the ceremony. The Mohave Crossing Event Center uses a temporary floor for this event which can be dangerous to those wearing high heels. Also, everyone will be focused more on your big smiles and less on your feet!
Mohave Community College is committed to assisting any individual requiring special accommodations. Please be aware that seating includes bleachers or seating accessible by stairs. If a participating graduate or a guest requires assistance, such as parking, special seating, sign language interpretation, or other services, we ask that you call Danette Bristle at (928) 704-9480. While all requests will be considered, we ask that you notify us by May 12 so we can best accommodate your needs. Mohave Community College staff will be available before, during and after the event if additional assistance is required.
No tickets are needed for the event and all seating is general admission. The venue is roomy, so please invite as many family and friends as you would like.
Yes, we record commencement. After the ceremony, visit our YouTube Channel to view the recorded ceremony.
Please take lots of pictures and video to save and share this special day. However, due to the number of participants and guests, only authorized personnel will be able to get close to the stage. Individual graduate photos will be taken on the stage by GradImages. For more information visit our photography page.
The Mojave Crossing Event Center is located along the Colorado River just west of Route 95. There is plenty of free parking.
In choosing attire, be aware that the date is mid-May in Arizona. While the Event Center is air-conditioned, it is difficult to get just the right temperature to please hundreds of guests. Please be prepared in case the venue is a bit on the cool side or the warm side for your tastes.
Please do not pack anything into your purse or small bag other than a wallet, a camera and some bottled water. Neither Mohave Community College nor the Mojave Crossing Event Center takes responsibility for lost or misplaced items.
MCC staff will be available throughout the venue to help you with any questions.
