Radiologic Technology

Radiologic Technology is a high-demand career offering above-average incomes. The Mohave Community College Radiologic Technology program is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and currently under review by Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) for approval. For additional information, please visit www.jrcert.org.

Thanks to a generous donation from the BHHS Legacy Foundation, MCC has a state-of-the-art Radiologic Technology lab at the Bullhead City campus. Click here and we’ll send you more information about the program.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Applicants must hold and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.85 in all prerequisite and program courses for admission and progression in the program. BIO 201, BIO 202 and MAT 121 must be completed with a grade of “B” or higher.
  • Students entering the Radiologic Technology program must be willing to devote their time and energies to a medical technical specialty that requires dedication and commitment. Hours for attending clinical may be assigned within the hours of 5am - 12am (midnight), any day of the week (Monday through Sunday). Students in this program are involved in their professional coursework and clinical education rotations forty (40) hours per week. Therefore, full-time work outside of the program requirements is strongly discouraged. Most students, however, have a part-time job after school hours.
  • Students must complete a current application, which will be available online January – March of each year.
  • In preparation for the Fall 2015 application process, it is important to note that in addition to the Fall 2014 program requirements, students will be asked to participate in exactly eight (8) hours of documented job shadowing in a general diagnostic x-ray department. This is not to be scheduled from January 31 - March 31, and must be recorded on the form included in the program handbook.
  • An online HESI admissions exam will need to be scheduled in the Mohave Community College Testing Center. This exam will provide data on learner proficiency and personality characteristics.
  • The program accepts 14 candidates each fall.
  • The Mohave Community College Radiologic Technology program will not accept radiology course credits from other radiologic technology programs.
